Dream this morning

We were taking a trip – a tour – on a train. We pulled into a beach town, where the train stopped briefly. We asked the driver if we could get off here and explore a bit, and catch the train again when it came back through (and how long would that be?) and the driver shrugged and said, Sure, […]

6 month checkup

Today is the children’s 6-month dental cleaning/checkup. I hope it all goes well so we won’t have a bunch more appointments! JL is also having his first dental appointment; I hope it goes well, too, even though I know he will need work.

Dreaming

I like dreams (most of the time). One can do things in dreams that are impossible in real life. One can experience things in dreams that are unlikely or impossible in real life. Yeah, they’re unrealistic. Yes, they don’t always make sense. Nevertheless… I like ’em.

I had a special blessing tonight.

We went to our friends’ house in Cleveland, TN this evening. She had a baby 12 weeks ago – he was 5#8 at birth, so about the size of one of my newborns *now*… and I got to hold him, and feed him (she bottle feeds), and cuddle him and rock him…

Nice weekend so far!

We were able to spend time with one family yesterday and another today who are our good friends. It is always nice to be able to fellowship with friends who are also part of the body of Christ!

It’s been a nice weekend.

Friday, we had our friends over. Saturday morning, I went yard saling with my mom-in-law and we got some great deals! Then we went to Chattanooga in the afternoon and got to spend some time with friends there. This afternoon I was able to talk to a friend whom I haven’t talked to in years (literally), and this evening, I […]

Middle-of-the-night Ramblings

During a time of loss, it is difficult not to put a stranglehold on what is still there. Decluttering is that much more difficult. I have a book on grief… but every part is talking about losing someone that one has had time to get to know. Someone they have seen alive and fellowshipped with alive – that they have […]

A funny story

I took Bob & JL out to eat Thursday. They only brought us two glasses of water, so I set mine between me & JL, figuring we would share. He took a sip and then, as bored children will do, he picked up the pepper. And shook some into the water! I took it away from him and set it […]

David’s ‘clothes’

This is what David was buried in. The lady who knitted it had a photo she emailed to me, and I am very thankful to her for it! The very beautiful story that goes with it (as told by the lady who knitted it) is as follows: “The cream pouch was the smallest of the ones I have made because […]

Losing the baby.

At Wedesday’s doctor appointment, my doctor was unable to find a heartbeat. He sent me next door to the hospital for an ultrasound and they were also unable to find a heartbeat and, though I was at 15 weeks, baby measured 14 weeks.

Happy Labor Day!

I hope you had a wonderful day. We visited with friends this morning and then relaxed this afternoon. Yesterday was my husband’s 41st birthday, and we celebrated with his parents. It was very nice. Altogether it’s been a nice weekend.
