“The Man Rules” and a woman’s rebuttal

(The Man Rules taken from generic email…. rebuttal by Karla Maddox. Rules in black, Karla’s rebuttals in blue) The Man Rules At last a guy has taken the time to write this all down Finally, the guys’ side of the story. ( I must admit, it’s pretty good – you guys always do ) We always hear “the rules” from […]

Well, that was goofy! (and annoying)

I dreamed that the Wiggles were in town, but they were tired, so they asked local people to fill in for them (they’d be ‘backstage’ helping out). I got to fill in for Anthony. My first bit was a skit about addition and subtraction and I wasn’t doing it quite like Anthony would (I was wearing the same outfit, except […]

My dh loves me.

Well, that seems obvious, I know, but every now and then he does something that particularly shows me so. I have always been very fond of male facial hair. He has kept a mustache for years, but for the last 8 years, he has refused to have a beard because he is self-employed and read a study that said that […]

Visits

We visited friends today. First, we stopped by the assisted living place and visited an older gentleman with whom we’ve been acquainted for about 10 years. He moved into assisted living about 6 months ago and we didn’t realize it. So we stopped by to see him, and he happened to be outside already at the time. We had a […]

Camping this past weekend!

We left Wednesday morning to go camping. We joined a new club, with new properties. Our trip this time was to Dahlonega, GA. You can see pictures in my gallery. So, anyway. We were intending to go to the Allison property. There was a mix-up with the accommodations, so we went to look at a different property (there are three […]

Interesting job.

I have accepted a job converting a book to HTML. It’s interesting – would be more so if I *understood* what I’m reading! It’s PHYSICS AS THE PROCESS OF OBSERVING 2D AND THE RESULTING FIRST ORDER PDE by Dr. David Maker.

Love in the house?

I didn’t *mean* to. I knew better. But he got my goat and I did it anyway – I yelled at my son. The windows were open. The neighbor who already thinks poorly of us was sitting out on her front porch – directly across the street from my open window. Now, *I* know that my son & I apologized […]

Lunch smells delicious.

We’re running a bit behind today… I didn’t get to bed until after midnight, so I didn’t get up until after 8. I just can’t function well on six hours a night (the plan is to get up at 6). Anyway, Rachel is fixing a vegetable lasagna, without a recipe, with stuff we had on hand. It should be ready […]

A God thing.

Ladies’ Array continued today. We had a short opening, four workshops and lunch. In my second workshop, the teacher had door prizes: two books and three angel figurines. The first four people drawn chose the two books and two of the figurines. The remaining figurine was an angel with a baby. The teacher chuckled and said “Maybe this is prophetic… […]

Ladies’ Array

Every year since 1999, my mother-in-law and I have attended the Ladies’ Array at Madison Baptist Church, which is about an hour from here. It is always a great time of refreshment, conviction, and resolution, as well as fellowship. This year’s “keynote speakers” are the three Hutson sisters (daughters of the late Curtis Hutson) – none of whom still have […]

Last night’s dream was almost amusing.

I dreamed we went to visit my Uncle Albert (I don’t have an Uncle Albert)… and he was in the Army. While we were there, our cat scratched herself all raw and bloody all over (we have been treating her for fleas because she scratched herself open in a couple places) and we asked Uncle Albert to take her out […]

I only slept about 15 minutes!

But what a dream. I dreamed I had a baby… it was a girl, and she was only about as big as David was… but was alive. Her lungs were working fine. She was a bit floppy (like David was) but was ALIVE. Then John Luke came in to have me put on his sandals and woke me up.

Great quote

“In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the […]

Monday, Monday…

Why are Mondays so difficult? Getting back in the swing of things after a restful, relaxing weekend (or even after a busy, hectic weekend, for that matter) always seems difficult. It must be something about inertia… either way, the “normal, average” isn’t what the weekend was, usually. We had my youngest sister-in-law in town for the weekend, which meant my […]
