No baby yet!

Went in around 7am, started pitocin around 7:30 or so… I was dilated to 2cm, about 50% effaced, baby at -2 (high). Checked at 1pm and was about 2.5cm, about 50% effaced, baby at -2. Checked at 4pm and was about 2.5cm, about 50% effaced, baby at -2. So, I’m home, with baby still inside 🙂

What color should your blog be?

Your Blog Should Be Purple You’re an expressive, offbeat blogger who tends to write about anything and everything. You tend to set blogging trends, and you’re the most likely to write your own meme or survey. You are a bit distant though. Your blog is all about you – not what anyone else has to say. What Color Should Your […]

Potatoes…

When you bake potatoes in the oven, it might be a good idea to poke ’em with a fork before you bake ’em. I had Bob put some in the oven, and about an hour later I went to check them. I poked the first one with a fork to see if it was done… and it EXPLODED!!! What a […]

Quote on obstacles:

“It is harder to overcome one big obstacle than half a dozen petty ones. So catch ’em while they’re small; don’t let ’em grow up.” — “Kirk” Kirkpatrick, Tulsa Tribune (1984ish) This is true for all kinds of things! We moms can apply it to dishes, to laundry, to other housework, to discipline, to schooling… everything! It’s also true, though, […]

A great quote about feminism

“All the cliches about oppressed women are boloney. Women have the opportunity of motherhood, time to be creative and to be individuals, and less pressure to submit their lives to a wretched career. You read these feminist books and you’d think every man is a U.S. senator. The fact is most men work for other men.” — George Gilder, author

Nightmare!!

I suppose it was bound to happen eventually. I dreamed I had the baby one afternoon, and he wasn’t very alert, but sleepy, so we took him home and put him to bed in his crib. The next day, we went to a birthday party for a friend’s kid, and while the kid was opening presents, it suddenly occurred to […]

Found a Great new musical artist!

Except, he isn’t really *new* – apparently he’s been around since the 1970s! I can’t believe I never heard of him before today! Barry Louis Polisar I won a free music download from Quilted Northern (I think), and when I went to the site, there was, listed under “just added,” an album by him. It is called “Off-Color Songs for […]

My daughter turned 11 today :)

She got a bike (from us) and $20 from her grandparents, who took her to Wal*Mart where she bought rollerblades, and a couple cards with cash from friends and relatives, and phone calls from my parents. My inlaws took her out for lunch, as well. We took her out for dinner to Western Sizzlin – who were having a deal […]

Had a GREAT weekend!!

I didn’t want to come home. And I did not at all miss my computer, believe it or not. We didn’t get out of here Thursday like we’d planned. We left Friday about 11am. We got into the GPAA claim at Buchanan, GA about 2:30ish (central time… even though we were in GA, we lived on ‘our’ time). First thing […]
