I only slept about 15 minutes!

But what a dream.

I dreamed I had a baby… it was a girl, and she was only about as big as David was… but was alive. Her lungs were working fine. She was a bit floppy (like David was) but was ALIVE.

Then John Luke came in to have me put on his sandals and woke me up.

Do you like Calvin & Hobbes’ snowmen?

This blog entry by Michelle in Alaska shows how her children made THEIR snowmen… very amusing!

Great quote

“In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag… We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language… and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.” ~Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Monday, Monday…

Why are Mondays so difficult? Getting back in the swing of things after a restful, relaxing weekend (or even after a busy, hectic weekend, for that matter) always seems difficult. It must be something about inertia… either way, the “normal, average” isn’t what the weekend was, usually.

We had my youngest sister-in-law in town for the weekend, which meant my kids had cousins here with whom to play. Now that they’ve headed home, the kids just want to keep playing, and not get down to business.

Well, it isn’t just the kids, either, I suppose. I have a lot *I* should be doing that I’m not, too.

Diligence is a character trait that is difficult to cultivate both in myself and my children. I need to work harder on that.

Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

I grew up with a very Irish last name, so St. Paddy’s has always been one of my more favorite days, even if we don’t *do* anything about it. My brother, as I recall, used to delight in wearing orange on St. Patrick’s Day. I’m not sure if he still does that or not.

Neat tree

On February 16, we went out to Buck’s Pocket to look around. While there, we saw this very neat tree.

I’m feeling particularly invisible, lately. If you saw my post a few days ago (though, at this point, I’m doubting anyone even reads HERE), you’ll have seen that it saddens me that nobody from my past has ever – apparently – wanted to contact me… and I feel like if I don’t go to the message boards that I generally frequent, most of the people there won’t even notice for quite some time – if at all. I have a mere handful of people (outside of my family) who would EVER notice if I disappeared completely. For those, I am grateful. However, it really makes me wonder about me.

How many of YOU are there?
Logo There are
people with my name
in the U.S.A.

How many have your name?

Apparently, I have a gross name. Snort.

I still can’t believe it

We did it. We bought one. They actually had one in at our Wal*Mart, and we had enough in the bank to cover it, so we did.

We now have a Wii.

Things I would like to purchase

1. A new stove/oven with knobs at the top instead of the front, and more room between burners and/or more burners (may not be able to afford both, so would likely get the knob thing instead of the more burners)
2. A Canon PowerShot S3 IS
3. New (lower, not upper) kitchen cabinets with more drawers
4. A Wii

There are more things, I know… but those are the ones I have in mind at the moment…

Friends from the past

I find it a bit sad. I have made myself easily findable (on purpose) because we moved a lot when I was growing up and came in contact with a lot of people… and yet the only ones I’ve gotten BACK in contact with are ones that I managed to find doing my own searches.

It makes me wonder. Was I that terrible as a child that nobody wants to find me? Was I just nondescript, and therefore not remembered? I knew I wasn’t popular… but I had some friends… I thought.

You people who blog every day…

How do you come up with stuff to SAY?
