About the amount of oatmeal your family will eat (it doenst expand as much as reg oatmeal so overestimate)
about a tsp of baking powder if you have it...I dont always put this in and cant tell a difference
a handful of sugar (any kind, sometimes I use a couple of scant tbs of molasses, if I do molasses, I put it in with the honey)

mix the above ingredients together

1 egg
we use about a quart of milk
a tsp or 2 of vanilla
mix thise ingredients together and mix into the oatmeal...if the liquid does not completely cover the oatmeal mixture, add more milk to it.

then add fruit...some good combos are
apples, cinnamon, raisins (peel, core and chop the apples)
apples, cinnamon
raisins, cinnamon
canned peaches, cut up, pecans
raisins, walnuts
this week, I put in a can of fruit cocktail and left over walnuts
I want to try pumpkin and spices but havent done it yet.

mix it up, cover, put in fridge

bake at 350 degrees, the time depends on how much you are cooking...I bake ours at least an hour, some sundays it is 2 hours before I get up...

The more milk you add, the softer it will be. I almost always add a little milk to the top before I put it in the oven but dont mix it...we like the milk to be just above the top of the oatmeal (maybe a quarter inch) this leaves a crusty top) I have done as much as an inch and it was less like cobbler and more like oatmeal...

we have done mashed bananas and walnuts too!
