| OK,
here is my bread recipie. I have never had it come out bad so I would
say it is pretty much fool-proof:) . My 83yo Grandmother has been
making this recipie since she was 16. 1 cake yeast 1 Pint milk, lukewarm 2 Tbl sugar 4 Tbl melted shortening 3 Pint flour 1 Tsp salt Dissolve
yeast & sugar in lukewarm milk. Add shortening & 1 1/2 pints of
flour. BEat till smooth. Add salt & remaining flour. Knead well.
Place in greased bowl & let rise till doubled. Shape into rolls or
loaves & place in greased pans. Let rise, then bake at 400 for
about 20 min. The 20 min is for rolls which is what I usually make. I cant remember how long I baked it for a loaf. |
