Bread
| 2 Cup all purpose flour (want to try it with wheat next time, but haven't) 3 Tsp baking powder 1/2 Tsp salt 1/4 Tsp nutmeg 1 Cup dates (optional--I've never put them in) 1/2 Cup butter or margarine softened 1 Cup sugar 2 eggs 1 Tbl lemon juice 1 1/2 Cup mashed bananas (3-4 fully ripe mashed bananas) Sift
together flour, baking pwdr, salt and nutmeg; add dates and toss
lightly. Cream together butter and sugar; beat in eggs and lemon juice.
Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternating with mashed bananas;
after each addition, beat until smooth. Turn into greased 9x5x3 inch
loaf pan. Bake in 350* oven for 40 minutes or until cake tester
inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes before removing
