Bread
1 1/2 Tsp brown sugar
1 Tsp salt
1 Cup warm water
2 Cup bread flour*
1/2 Cup whole wheat flour
2 1/2 Tsp yeast

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add sugar and salt. Mix in flour, kneading it at the end. I have a Kitchen Aid so it does the kneading for me, I am not sure how long you should knead it. Flatten dough onto surface. Cut lengthwise into 5 strips. Roll each strip just a bit. Dip ends into water and pinch together to shape bagel. Place on greased cookie sheet. Take an egg yolk mixed with 1 tsp. water and brush tops of the bagels. Can sprinkle with poppy seeds or sesame seeds if desired. Bake in preheated oven at 450 degrees for 12 minutes.

*I use all whole wheat instead of the bread flour and it turns out fine.

I also usually quadruple the recipe because that is what my mixer can hold and then I double that. I freeze all the leftovers.
