When you bake potatoes in the oven, it might be a good idea to poke ‘em with a fork before you bake ‘em.
I had Bob put some in the oven, and about an hour later I went to check them. I poked the first one with a fork to see if it was done…
and it EXPLODED!!!
What a mess!

“It is harder to overcome one big obstacle than half a dozen petty ones. So catch ‘em while they’re small; don’t let ‘em grow up.” — “Kirk” Kirkpatrick, Tulsa Tribune (1984ish)
This is true for all kinds of things! We moms can apply it to dishes, to laundry, to other housework, to discipline, to schooling… everything!
It’s also true, though, that if you’re starting with big obstacles, you can break ‘em up into a bunch of petty ones, if you’ll just “think smaller” – don’t look at the whole bookshelf of crooked books, just look at ONE shelf. Once it’s fixed, look at the next one. (For example.)
Sadly, that’s easier said than done… but it *can* be done!

“All the cliches about oppressed women are boloney. Women have the opportunity of motherhood, time to be creative and to be individuals, and less pressure to submit their lives to a wretched career. You read these feminist books and you’d think every man is a U.S. senator. The fact is most men work for other men.” — George Gilder, author

Shame on me!
I have ideas and plans for posts, but I just … don’t seem to *get* here. Why? I dunno.
