Visits

We visited friends today. First, we stopped by the assisted living place and visited an older gentleman with whom we’ve been acquainted for about 10 years. He moved into assisted living about 6 months ago and we didn’t realize it. So we stopped by to see him, and he happened to be outside already at the time. We had a very nice visit.

Then we went to Harl & Bea’s house. They are from NY (a couple hours’ south of where I lived). She had a bunch of photos that brought back memories of my growing up years! Bea is a spitfire of a lady – she is currently in a brace due to getting up on her roof to clear the gutters and falling off! She broke her neck & back. She seems to be recovering nicely, though 🙂 She had me put JL up on her lap, whereupon she did little poems with his fingers and toes.

THIS is little Tommy Thumb,
Round and smooth as any plum.
This is busy Peter Pointer ;
Surely he’s a double- jointer.
This is mighty Toby Tall ;
He’s the biggest one of all.
This is dainty Reuben Ring ;
He’s too fine for anything.
And this little wee one, maybe,
Is the pretty Finger-baby.

and

This little piggy stubbed his toe
This little piggy said, Oh, Oh, Oh!
This little piggy laughed and was glad
This little piggy cried and was sad
This little piggy, so thoughtful and good,
Ran for the doctor as fast as he could.
